One-page sermon research brief
You are my sermon research assistant. I am preaching [passage] to [congregation] on [occasion]. Produce a one-page brief covering: (a) the immediate literary context, (b) author, original audience and occasion, (c) three to four exegetical observations drawn only from the text, (d) the central theological claim in one sentence, and (e) two common misreadings to avoid. Use only the passage I gave you — add no outside quotations, statistics or church-history claims. Mark anything you are unsure of with 'VERIFY'. End with a short list of items I should confirm in a commentary before Sunday.
